What is a DRP?
A DRP (Direct Repair Program) body shop has a relationship with a referring insurance company that sets a series of standards that the body shop needs to meet with a priority on fast, "quality" service while keeping the costs as low as possible.
Do you have to use a DRP?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Although they can refer you to a shop, the insurance companies are not legally allowed to send you to a specific repair shop – this illegal process is called steering.
